Galatians 5:22

…joy, peace…

Devotional

The Spirit’s fruit is not only love but also joy and peace. Joy is the deep gladness that comes from knowing Christ, independent of circumstances. It is more than happiness, it is a settled delight in God that endures through trials.

Peace is wholeness, harmony, and rest. It is not merely the absence of conflict but the presence of God’s shalom. This peace reconciles us to God, calms our anxious hearts, and enables us to live in unity with others.

In a restless society, we chase happiness and grasp for control. But joy and peace cannot be engineered by effort or produced by machines. They are gifts of the Spirit, rooted in God’s presence. When He dwells in us, joy bubbles up and peace settles down.

Question to consider

Where in your life do you most long for the Spirit’s joy and peace to take deeper root?

Prayer

Holy Spirit, fill me with your joy that endures and your peace that calms. Teach me to rest in your presence and reflect your wholeness to others.
