…forbearance…
Patience is Spirit-given strength to endure difficulty without giving up, and to bear with others without giving in to frustration or anger. It reflects God’s own patience with us, slow to anger and abounding in love.
The flesh is quick to react, easily irritated, and eager to demand instant results. The Spirit grows in us a steadiness that waits, endures, and perseveres. This patience is not passive resignation but active trust in God’s timing and grace.
Today, impatience is everywhere. Yet Spirit-filled patience is a radical witness. It shows that we do not live by our own schedules or tempers but by the Spirit’s power, trusting the God who is patient with us.
Who or what in your life most tests your patience—and how might the Spirit grow His patience in you there?
Lord, thank you for your patience with me. Grow in me the Spirit’s gift of patience, that I may endure trials and bear with others in love. Teach me to trust your timing.
