Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? It is God who justifies. Who then is the one who condemns? No one. Christ Jesus who died—more than that, who was raised to life—is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us.
Here Paul enters the courtroom again. Who can accuse God’s elect? Who can condemn? The answer is clear: no one. Why? Because God Himself has justified us, and Christ Himself intercedes for us.
Our enemies may accuse, our consciences may condemn, but God’s verdict stands: justified. The gavel has fallen, and the case is closed. Christ’s death paid the price, His resurrection secured victory, and His ongoing intercession keeps us in grace.
This truth is a shield against shame. The world may point fingers, Satan may whisper lies, and our hearts may replay failures, but none of these can overturn God’s declaration. The risen Christ Himself speaks for us before the Father. Our security rests not in our defence but in His.
How does this assurance, God justifies and Christ intercedes, speak into your own struggles with guilt or accusation?
Lord Jesus, thank you that you died, rose, and now intercede for me. Silence every accusing voice, and anchor me in the confidence of your justification.
