Led by the Spirit

Silence and stillness before God (2 minutes)
Scripture reading
Scripture reading:
Romans 8:14

For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God.

Devotional

Being led by the Spirit is not about extraordinary experiences reserved for a few, it is the daily reality of every believer. To be led by Him means our lives are directed, guided, and shaped by His presence. It is less about spectacular moments and more about steady obedience.

This verse links the Spirit’s leading with our identity: those who are led by the Spirit are the children of God. Guidance is not primarily about knowing what job to take or what decision to make (though the Spirit helps in these areas). It is first about living as God’s children, walking in love, resisting sin, and reflecting the family likeness of Christ.

To be led by the Spirit is a sign of belonging. It assures us that we are not outsiders but members of God’s household. The Spirit does not just point the way; He walks with us. He is both our guide and our guarantee that we are children of the Father.

Question to consider

What is one way you can be more attentive to the Spirit’s leading in your everyday life?

Prayer

Spirit of God, thank you that you lead me as a child of the Father. Help me to listen for your voice and follow your guidance. Shape my life to reflect that I belong to you.

Conclude with silence (2 minutes)
