“Father, if you are willing, take this cup from me; yet not my will, but yours be done.”
An angel from heaven appeared to him and strengthened him. And being in anguish, he prayed more earnestly, and his sweat was like drops of blood falling to the ground.
Gethsemane is the greatest threshold moment in history — the space between surrender and sacrifice. Between comfort and the cross.
Jesus, fully divine yet fully human, trembled in the garden. He asked for another way — but chose obedience. This is not weak faith. This is honest faith. Holy trust that aches and still says yes.
An angel strengthened Him. Not to escape, but to endure. And through His surrender, salvation was born.
Your own Gethsemane may feel unbearable. The decisions ahead too weighty. But you are not alone in the garden. Jesus has walked this path. And because He said “yes,” we are never without hope.
What is your Gethsemane moment — where is God inviting you to say “not my will, but yours”?
Jesus, thank you for your surrender in the garden. Give me courage to trust you in the hard choices, and strength to say yes to your will.
