The Lord had said to Abram, “Go from your country, your people and your father’s household to the land I will show you. I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you.” So Abram went, as the Lord had told him…
The threshold moment in Abram’s life began with a single word: “Go.” But where? God didn’t hand him a map. He offered a promise — and an invitation.
Threshold moments are often marked by the call to leave. To step away from the familiar, the comfortable, and the secure — and to trust that God’s “I will show you” is enough.
Abram obeyed without having all the answers. He walked into the unknown with only a promise in hand. That’s the essence of faith — not certainty of direction, but confidence in the One who leads.
You may not know where your current journey will lead, but you don’t go alone. Jesus, who left everything to come to us, now walks with us into the unknown.
What is God asking you to leave behind — and what promise are you holding onto as you step forward?
God of the journey, I don’t need to know the whole path — only that you go with me. Give me courage to leave what I must, and faith to trust what you will show. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
