Silence and stillness before God (2 minutes)
Scripture reading
Scripture reading:
Acts 7:30

After forty years had passed, an angel appeared to Moses in the flames of a burning bush in the desert near Mount Sinai.

Devotional

Moses was rescued as a baby, raised in Pharaoh’s palace, driven to defend his people — and then sent into obscurity. Forty years in the wilderness. Forgotten, it seemed. Threshold moments can stretch longer than we ever expected. The “between” seasons can feel silent, insignificant, or like failure. But nothing is wasted with God.

Moses thought his story was over. But God was only beginning. At the burning bush, God called him not from his success, but from his obscurity. The wilderness had been preparation.

The Spirit often does quiet work in the background — forming humility, patience, and resilience. If you're in a long middle, know this: God hasn’t forgotten you. He’s forming you. And one day, the bush will burn, and you’ll know — the time has come.

Question to consider

Have you been in a season that feels long and hidden — and what might God be cultivating in you beneath the surface?

Prayer

Father, when it feels like nothing is happening, help me trust that you are still working. Prepare me for what’s ahead, and keep me faithful in the waiting. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
