Silence and stillness before God (2 minutes)
Scripture reading
Scripture reading:
Genesis 6:22

Noah did everything just as God commanded him.

Devotional

Sometimes, the most faith-filled act is building a boat when there’s not a drop of rain in sight. Noah lived in the tension — the threshold moment between warning and fulfilment. God had spoken. A flood was coming. But there was no storm yet. Just the long days of obedience.

Threshold seasons often feel like that. We hear God’s direction, but the outcome hasn’t arrived. So we hammer nails. We cut wood. We trust in quiet obedience.

Noah didn’t just build an ark — he waited in faith. For years. In the face of doubt, mockery, and uncertainty. It’s a quiet kind of trust. And it’s the kind that God remembers.

In your own threshold moment, when nothing around you looks like change is coming, remember this: God honours faithful waiting. And just like the first drops of rain eventually fell, His promises will come.

Question to consider

What kind of “ark” has God asked you to build in faith, even though you haven’t yet seen the rain?

Prayer

Lord God, help me to walk in steady obedience, even when the outcomes are unseen. Strengthen my heart to wait and build in faith. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
