Silence and stillness before God (2 minutes)
Scripture reading
Scripture reading:
Daniel 3:17-18

“If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God we serve is able to deliver us from it, and he will deliver us from Your Majesty’s hand.
But even if he does not, we want you to know, Your Majesty, that we will not serve your gods or worship the image of gold you have set up.”

Devotional

There are some threshold moments where the only way forward is through the fire. Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego knew the cost of faith — and still, they stood firm. Their words echo across time: “Even if he does not…”

Faith in the in-between isn’t always about certainty. It’s about loyalty. It's trusting God not only for outcomes, but in His unchanging worth.

The fire was real — but so was the fourth figure in the flames. Jesus, present in the furnace, reminds us that when we walk through heat and hardship, we never walk alone.

Sometimes God delivers us from the fire. Sometimes He meets us in it. Either way, He is with us. And that is our peace.

Question to consider

What situation are you facing where you need to trust God “even if” the outcome doesn’t look the way you hoped?

Prayer

Jesus, you walk with me in the fire. Strengthen my heart to trust you no matter the outcome. I belong to you — even in the heat.
