But Jesus would not entrust himself to them, for he knew all people. He did not need any testimony about mankind, for he knew what was in each person.
This brief statement reveals something profound: Jesus knew what was in people. He saw beneath appearances, words, and reputations. He discerned motives, fears, and desires.
No human and no AI can see into the heart. We may predict behaviour from data, but only Jesus knows the inner reality. He was not fooled by flattery or swayed by crowds. His wisdom was perfect insight, joined to perfect love.
This should both humble and comfort us. Humble, because we cannot hide from Him. Comfort, because the One who knows us fully does not turn away. He meets our weakness with mercy and our sin with grace. In Christ, being fully known leads not to rejection, but to redemption.
What difference does it make in your life to know that Jesus sees and understands your heart perfectly?
Lord Jesus, you know me completely—the good, the bad, and the hidden. Thank you that your knowledge is not cold analysis but compassionate love. Help me to trust you with my whole heart.
