My goal is that they may be encouraged in heart and united in love, so that they may have the full riches of complete understanding, in order that they may know the mystery of God, namely, Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.
Paul declares something breathtaking: in Christ are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. Not some, not most, all. If we are searching for wisdom, we need look no further than Him.
This directly confronts the modern fascination with artificial intelligence. We may store oceans of data, create systems that predict, translate, or even create, but the true treasures of wisdom remain hidden in Christ. The “mystery of God” is not an algorithm but a person.
Notice Paul’s emphasis: wisdom is tied to being “encouraged in heart and united in love.” Knowledge without love leads to pride; wisdom in Christ leads to community, comfort, and truth. Our world seeks intelligence to dominate; God offers wisdom to reconcile.
Where do you need to shift from seeking knowledge in the world to seeking wisdom in Christ?
Lord Jesus, you are the treasure of wisdom and knowledge. Help me to turn from shallow pursuits and find in you the fullness of understanding.
