He Knows the End from the Beginning

Silence and stillness before God (2 minutes)
Scripture reading
Scripture reading:
Isaiah 46:9–10

Remember the former things, those of long ago; I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like me. I make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times, what is still to come. I say, ‘My purpose will stand, and I will do all that I please.’

Devotional

God sets Himself apart from every false god and human power by declaring His ability to reveal the future. He alone knows the end from the beginning. History is not random, but directed toward His purposes. His plan cannot be overturned.

This truth humbles our technological ambitions. AI systems can predict trends, forecast markets, or guess what we might want to buy next. But none of them know the end from the beginning. None can declare what will surely come to pass.

God alone holds history in His hand. He is not reacting to events; He is guiding them toward His appointed end. This gives us confidence in uncertain times. We do not need to fear the future of technology, geopolitics, or even death itself. God’s purposes will stand.

Question to consider

How does trusting God’s knowledge of the end free you from anxiety about the future?

Prayer

Sovereign Lord, you alone know the end from the beginning. Help me trust in your plan and rest in your unshakable purposes.

Conclude with silence (2 minutes)
