And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, ‘Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’…
The Bible ends not with despair but with a vision of renewal. In the new creation, God Himself dwells with His people. Every tear is wiped away, every sorrow healed, every death undone. This is the horizon of Christian hope.
As we each approach death, in Christ this is not distant theory but imminent reality. The One who counts every tear now will wipe them away then. Pain and grief are temporary; joy and life are eternal.
This truth allows us to let go. To release our grip on this world is not to plunge into nothingness but to enter into everything promised: the presence of God, the end of sorrow, the dawn of joy.
Lord, thank you for the promise of your dwelling, your comfort, and your renewal. Give me courage to trust that sorrow will end and joy will remain forever.
