Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his faithful servants.
When a loved one dies in Christ, grief is heavy. Yet Scripture lifts our eyes to see their passing from heaven’s perspective. To us it feels like loss, but to the Lord it is precious. He welcomes His child home with joy.
This truth does not erase grief, but it reframes it. Our tears matter to God, and our sorrow is real. Yet at the same time, heaven rejoices. What we call death, God calls homecoming. The believer’s final breath on earth is their first in His presence.
How does it help your grief to know that God views the death of His children as precious?
Father, thank you that my loved one’s death is precious in your sight. Comfort me in my sorrow, and help me to trust that they are safe in your eternal joy.
