You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand.
The journey of life and death ends here: joy in God’s presence, forever. For the believer who has died, this is now reality. For those who remain, it is our hope. The path of life does not end in the grave, it ends at the right hand of God, where joy is full and pleasures never fade.
This verse gathers up both sides of grief. For the dying, it is promise fulfilled. For the grieving, it is assurance of reunion. Death does not have the final word, joy does. In His presence, sorrow ceases, joy overflows, and eternity begins.
How does the assurance of eternal joy in God’s presence give you hope today?
Father, thank you that in your presence there is fullness of joy. Help me to grieve with hope and to look forward to the day when sorrow is no more.
